2026 Chicks, Ducklings, Goslings, & Hatching Eggs

From our NPIP Certified Breeding Flocks

Chicks, ducklings, and goslings are sold as straight-run (males and females mixed) only. The natural ratio of males and females will fall around 50/50, with a greater chance of a more even split when purchasing more just because that’s how statistics work (: We will not have sexed females available in 2026.

ALL CHICKEN CHICKS WILL BE MAREK’S VACCINATED.

Local pick-up only at our farm (10980 Allen Road, East Concord, NY) on the date you schedule.

All pre-orders require a 25% non-refundable deposit.

Due to New York State law, our order minimum for newly hatched poultry is 6. You can mix and match species and order dates.

White Crested Black Polish Bantam

White Crested Black Polish bantams are true bantams, meaning that they are about 1/4 the size of a standard chicken when fully grown. They will lay about 100 cream peewee sized eggs per year, and take about 7-8 months to come into lay under ideal conditions. They’re gentle and sweet, but can be frightened easily because they can’t see very well. While they can thrive in a mixed flock, they are very delicate as chicks, so brooding them separately from standard breeds and other fowl for the first couple of weeks will increase their chances for success.

Mixed Breed Heritage Laying Ducks

We keep a small breeding flock of ducks consisting of Cayuga, Swedish (Blue, Black, Silver), Buff, Fawn and White Runner, Laying Pekin, and Crested Pekin. Ducklings are a mix of pure and mixed breeds. Duck hatches after June have a wider variety of duck breeds. These heritage breeds and their crosses should lay between 100 – 180 eggs/year. Most eggs will be cream, with some black/grey and the occasional green. We will select an assortment of feather colors for your order based on what hatches. Ducklings should be brooded separately from land fowl.

Ducks can be excellent foragers, gingerly picking seeds from weed heads or rooting through the grass and leaves to look for snails and other delicacies. They’re entertaining, and find joy in ponds, streams, and puddles. They will need clean water available at all times so that they can dunk their whole head in to wash out their eyes and nostrils on a regular basis. If you don’t have a pond, stream, or kiddie pool for them, a bucket or feed tub will do!

Toulouse x Roman Cross Geese

Our goslings are the offspring of our Classic Roman male and Toulouse female. They are smaller geese (about 15 pounds fully grown), and are less vocal than Chinese or African geese. We have had our customers compliment how easy they are to socialize as goslings, making for friendly guardians and farm pals. They’re also robust enough to provide a lovely medium-sized goose for the dinner table if you wanted to lean in that direction. The feather pattern resulting from this mating is mostly white, but we have had a few that have been light brown and black spotted.

While it may be tempting to keep one goose in a mixed flock, we recommend keeping two or more so that they have someone else in the flock who speaks their language. Geese are highly social and bond for life, especially males and females, which will pair bond. Having two or more geese can decrease the chance of aggressive encounters between the geese and chickens if you decide to keep them together.
