Chicks & Hatching Eggs

We hatch our chicks in spring and raise the chicks for 2-7 days to help them get through their infancy stage and best prepare them for their new homes.

Chicks are sold as straight-run only.

Local pick-up only.

Due to New York State law, our order minimum for chicks is 6. 

Pricing:
Pricing is as marked per each breed. Order 10-19 chicks or eggs, receive 5% off order total. Order 20-29 chicks, or eggs receive 10% off order total. Order 30-39 chicks or eggs, receive 15% off order total. Orders of more than 40 chicks or eggs and receive a 20% discount off your total order.

Assortment pricing:
If you’re not sure exactly what you’d like and/or like surprises, we have assortments available in increments of 1 dozen eggs or 10 chicks. You are not able to select your breeds and we do not guarantee that you’ll receive all breeds. We’ll do our best to provide an assortment of egg colors, and you’ll receive at least 3 breeds. Pricing for assortments is $30/dozen hatching eggs and $50/10 chicks.

To order, contact us to get on the list for one of the hatch dates below. Hatching eggs are available from March 1st – May 1st, 2024.

Hatch (Pickup) Dates:
March 22 (Pickup week of March 25th) – reserve by March 1st for best availability.
April 12th (Pickup week of April 15th) – reserve by March 20th for best availability.

The majority of our chicks will have beards and muffs, but some chicks may not have these features. Most will have colored feet.

French Black Copper Marans

Feather Color: Black with copper in the hackle feathers. Moderately feathered legs.

This breed was developed as an auto-sexing cross, meaning at hatch, male chicks will be cream colored and females will be light brown. These are the best and earliest layers of the largest brown eggs!

Snowy Brook’s Little Red Hen

The feather color of only one of our varieties (the chestnut and grey) is shown here. The other variety is a mostly black chick with slightly feathered legs. Grown hens of the other variety will be all black with some gold and a crest. The chestnut and grey Olive Green Eggers and Welsummers look nearly identical as chicks. You'll start to see differences around 6 weeks of age.

Snowy Brook’s Olive Green EGGER
